I'm not sure what Macrium's thoughts are on it, but as I see it one major advantage for them is that they don't have to upload multiple versions of a new (and large) install file to every site which offers their program for download every time they update to a new build. It was confusing and odd for me at first, but I've come to appreciate it more. The "download-a-downloader" method is something I hadn't run into until I used Reflect. This is why I've come to the conclusion I've outlined. The first thing I'd try is disabling this type of software temporarily while you conduct the download. Why, why, why? Why can't you just provide a link to the installation package? I really hate these download-a-downloader-installations. After pasting the license number and clicking "Download", "Download information" changes for the fraction of a second, then all is like before and nothing's downloading anything.
